Streamlining Travel Procedures in Guatemala: say hi to the Electronic Regional Traveler Declaration!

We are pleased to inform you about the recent implementation of the Electronic Regional Traveler Declaration (DJRV) at La Aurora International Airport. The Superintendencia de Administración Tributaria, the Superintendencia de Bancos, and the Instituto Guatemalteco de Migración have collaborated to develop this initiative, which will take effect on July 19, 2023.

The main objective of this implementation is to simplify and expedite the traveler declaration process, eliminating the need for paper forms. Travelers can now access the new digital form directly on the Superintendencia de Administración Tributaria website: Declaración del viajero electrónica

The form has been standardized for Central American countries, including Panama, Belize, and the Dominican Republic, making it valid for multiple destinations in the region. Additionally, for family trips, only the responsible person for the family group needs to complete a single declaration, further streamlining the process for travelers.

A significant advantage of this implementation is that travelers can now complete the form during the airline check-in process, providing them with greater convenience and flexibility during their travels.

The implementation will occur in several additional phases to cover all major entry and exit points in the country:

  • September 2023: Second phase at Mundo Maya International Airport in Petén.

  • November 2023: Third phase, covering maritime customs.

  • December 2023: Final stage, including all land customs.

At OL Business Group, we are delighted to be your reliable source of information on these travel procedure improvements in Guatemala. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any additional questions or require further assistance regarding these implementations. We are here to help you at all times!
